Gülhanım Dalan, born in 1980, specializes in nanomaterials and has been working in the field of nanocomposite production for over twenty years. Since 2018, she has been serving at Yeditepe University in Turkey. Due to her expertise, she was granted Turkish citizenship by the Republic of Turkey.

In 2022, she founded DLA Teknoloji to commercialize her research products and continues her commercial activities in collaboration with the university.

Her resume includes the following research projects:

  • Mass production of cost-effective graphene and carbon nanotubes
  • Production of polymer additives to alter and improve the physical properties of polymers
  • Development of non-lithium batteries that are very lightweight and provide higher efficiency and longevity compared to lithium batteries, using graphene and carbon nanotubes
  • Production of bulletproof glass with a thickness of only 2.5 cm using just one protective film
  • Development of smart glass with carbon nanotubes
  • Development of the world’s strongest (10 times stronger than Kevlar fibers) fireproof fiber
  • Production of new generation solar cells using carbon nanotubes and graphene
  • Production of anti-radar film with 99.5% absorption power in the X-band
  • Development of heat and sound insulation films with very high efficiency at low thickness
  • Development of black diamond that is 40 times stronger than regular diamonds
  • Production of paint with properties equivalent to polyurethane paint at a lower cost and easier application method using nanotubes
  • Production of transparent composite with 400 times more impact resistance than regular glass, as unbreakable glass

Additionally, in 2024, she decided to establish nano research laboratory in Turkey and continues to work as the owner and manager of this center alongside her other activities. This research center only focuses on projects that can be transformed into an industrial product or solve an industrial problem. This research center is being established on a 1000 square meter area with an investment of $70 million.
